Social Communications is heading to the world’s largest property convention – MIPIM 2019 – with a delegation of senior team members, for the first time. The complete communications agency, formed six years ago, has built a reputation as one of the UK’s leading names in property and infrastructure communications, planning consultation and place-marketing.

With offices in Manchester, Bristol and Leeds, the agency is supporting five clients who will be attending the conference in Cannes, France, as part of the Leeds City Region delegation (Stand R7.A18 at the Palais de Festivals). These include Bradford Council and developers Parklane Group, SKA Developments, Munroe K and Extra MSA Group.

Group Chief Executive John Quinton-Barber, Leeds Chairman Gerald Jennings, Group Director Pete Wrathmell and Account Director Victoria Starkey will join thousands of property developers, agents and industry leaders from around the world at the four-day event taking place from 12-15 March.

As well as supporting its Leeds City Region clients, the event is an opportunity to promote the agency’s expertise in public relations, public affairs and marketing on an international stage. The agency also works with international construction and consultancy firm Mace, the National College for High Speed Rail and the UK’s largest housing association, Places for People.

Social Communications Group Director and Head of the Leeds Office, Pete Wrathmell said: “This is the first time we will be sending a delegation to MIPIM, to showcase our clients’ work and also promote our own ambitions to a global audience.

“We all have individual experience of the event, so we’re well placed to help our clients get the most out of it. We’re looking forward to getting out there, demonstrating our expertise and seeing what opportunities there are to work with others in the property, infrastructure and transport sectors across the UK.”

Social Communications’ Yorkshire team is currently providing Bradford Council with communications support for the city’s high-speed rail station plans. The agency runs the ‘Next Stop Bradford’ campaign which aims to secure a Northern Powerhouse Rail station in Bradford city centre.

The team is also working with Extra MSA Group on their new Leeds Skelton Lake Services scheme on the M1, Munroe K on the new rail station plans at the White Rose Office Park, and a range of communications services for Leeds-based Parklane Group and SKA Developments in Huddersfield.

Supported by a full creative team based at its Manchester headquarters, Social is helping its clients to make the most of MIPIM through PR activity, social media campaigns, blog writing, bespoke website pages and network building strategies.
